Mavs Travel to Northwest Missouri, Host St. Cloud

The 18th-ranked University of Nebraska at Omaha volleyball team (7-4/0-2 NCC) will take a break from conference action when they travel to Maryville, Mo. on Wednesday, Sept. 19 for a 7 p.m. match at Northwest Missouri State (8-8). The Mavericks will then resume league play when they host St. Cloud State (5-8/0-1 NCC) in UNO's NCC home opener at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22.
The Record
The Mavericks are currently 7-4 overall and 0-2 in the NCC after opening the conference season with two road losses last weekend. The Mavericks fell to No. 4 Minnesota Duluth 3-1 (30-14, 30-18, 23-30, 30-20) on Friday night. UNO was swept at No. 23 Minnesota State 3-0 (30-28, 30-22, 32-30) on Saturday.
The Rankings
In the latest CSTV/AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 poll released on Sept. 17, Nebraska-Omaha was ranked No. 18. Other NCC schools in the top 25 included: Minnesota Duluth (3), Augustana (13), and Minnesota State (15).
Christensen Nearing 1,000-Kill Mark
All-American Carlie Christensen will be looking to become the 16th player in school history to record 1,000 career kills. The senior from Omaha has tallied 998 kills to date.
