Sep 19, 2007 | Hockey
B2 Networks and UNO athletic director David Miller Wednesday announced a multi-year partnership that will bring Maverick hockey to the leading provider of broadband broadcasting. The partnership will begin with all home games during the 2007-08 season being shown live on B2 Networks.
With the addition of UNO, B2 Networks has partnerships with four members of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA); UNO, Northern Michigan, Ferris State and Lake Superior State. UNO's away games at B2 partner institutions will also be broadcast live and be available to fans worldwide.
"We're very pleased to able to offer a service like this to our loyal hockey fans and stakeholders," stated Miller. "We believe that live broadcasts on B2 Networks will enhance our program and presentation of UNO Maverick hockey."
By teaming with B2 Networks, UNO ice hockey will be available for viewing by a worldwide audience. Live hockey games will be aired through the school's athletic website http://gomavs.unomaha.edu/. Fans wanting to watch Mavericks hockey via B2 Networks will need a high-speed Internet connection and a current version of Microsoft Windows Media Player. Games will be sold on an individual basis with special viewing packages to be announced at a later date.
"We are thrilled to add another strong University to our growing collegiate partner list, especially an outstanding CCHA hockey program," stated Richard Brosal, B2 Networks Executive Vice President for Business Operations and Marketing. "By offering live action of all home games and some away games on B2 Networks, UNO's fans will benefit from the extra accessibility of Mavericks hockey."
