Mavericks Sweep Past WMU, 4-2

Kalamazoo, Mich. -- Senior forward Mick Lawrence scored two power-play goals to help Nebraska-Omaha top Western Michigan 4-2 and complete the team's second Central Collegiate Hockey Association-road sweep of the season Sunday afternoon in the Mavs' first appearance on ESPNU.
UNO improved to 9-10-3 and 6-7-3 in the conference and WMU is now 6-13-1 and 2-10-0.
Western Michigan's Patrick Galivan scored twice in 35 seconds to set the Broncos up with a 2-0 lead over the Mavericks in the first period.
The Mavericks evened the score with two power-play goals from Lawrence at 1:24 and 9:44 of the second. Junior defenseman Juha Uotlia and senior forward Bryan Marshall had the helpers on Lawrence's first goal and junior forward Dan Charleston and sophomore defenseman Eddie Del Grosso had the assists on the second goal.
On a breakaway, senior forward Brandon Scero beat Bronco goaltender Jerry Kuhn at 10:16 of the third to score the game winner, Marshall and freshman defenseman Alain Goulet assisted on the goal.
Junior forward Tomas Klempa netted an empty-net goal with two-seconds left after Uotlia poke-checked Galivan to finish scoring.
