FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Senior Forward Dan Charleston was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Player of the Week for his performance during last weekend's Mutual of Omaha Stampede.
Charleston (2-2-4) scored the game-winner 4:15 into overtime against Union on Saturday to lift UNO to its second consecutive Stampede title with a 2-1 victory at the Qwest Center Omaha.
In Friday's game against American International, Charleston chipped in a power-play goal and two assists to help the Mavericks claim a season-opening 4-1 win.
UNO returns to the ice this weekend when it hosts Mercyhurst College of Erie, Penn. on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24 & 25. Faceoff from the Qwest Center is 7:05 p.m. both nights.
