No. 8 Truman Ends Maverick Volleyball Season

EMPORIA, Kan. -- Eighth-ranked Truman State swept the University of Nebraska at Omaha volleyball team 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-18) Friday afternoon in first round action at the NCAA II South Central Regional at White Auditorium.
The loss ends the Maverick season at 16-16 while Truman (30-7) advances to the Regional semifinals where they will battle Central Missouri at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Mavericks were plagued by 22 attacking errors in the match, hitting just .038. #Ellen Thommes# , #Kelli Goeser#, and #Brittany Hanssen# each had six kills to pace the UNO attack. Thommes added a match-high five blocks.
Juniors #Sara Kampschnieder# (16) and #Kayla Jansen# (13) combined for 29 digs to lead the UNO defense.
Freshman #Emily Myers# dished out 22 assists while adding five digs.
Eli Medina recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 15 digs to lead Truman.
Notes:
• Ellen Thommes now has 289 career block assists, good for 11th place on the all-time UNO career charts.
• Kayla Jansen became the seventh player in school history to record over 500 digs in a season, finishing the year with 505.
