Jansen Named MIAA Specialist of the Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Maverick libero #Kayla Jansen# has been named the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Specialist of the Week for her performances in the Mavericks' three conference volleyball matches last week.
Jansen, a 5-foot-6 junior from Omaha, Neb., averaged 6.20 digs and 0.40 service aces per set as the Mavericks posted a 2-1 record last week.
In a 3-1 home win over No. 7 Washburn Wednesday (Oct. 29), she had a season-high 33 digs (8.25 dps) while committing no errors on 13 serves and 19 reception attempts. Jensen also added two assists.
She had 17 digs (5.67 dps) with three service aces and three assists in a three-set loss at No. 8 Emporia State Saturday (Nov. 1).
The next day at Fort Hays State, Jansen had 12 digs (4.00 dps) with an ace and four assists. She was without errors on 11 service attempts and 14 receptions as the Mavs claimed a 3-0 win.
For the week, she had a .980 reception percentage (51 attempts) and a .971 service percentage (34 attempts).
