Hansen Earns Nod For Mavs' Hot Start

OMAHA, Neb. - UNO head men's basketball coach #Derrin Hansen# was named the Coach of the Month for November by Division II Bulletin, a month magazine devoted to D-II men's college baskeball. Hansen is joined by assistant coach #Randall Herbst#.
Hansen led the Mavs to a 4-0 start, a start that included three road wins. The Mavericks beat Nebraska-Kearney 89-68 on Nov. 17 and followed that with wins over Western State (95-71) on Nov. 21 and Colorado State Pueblo (83-66) on Nov. 22. UNO opened the season with a 93-50 win over NAIA foe Doane College at home on Nov. 15.
Hansen and company return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 3 when they begin play in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association at Washburn University. Game time is 7:30 p.m. They'll follow that with a game at Fort Hays State on Friday, Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday's game against Washburn can be heard live on 1620 The Zone beginning at 7:20 p.m.
