DelGrosso And Kaufmann Earn CCHA Honors

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - Junior defenseman Eddie DelGrosso was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Defensive Player of the Week for the third time on Monday, while senior goalie Jerad Kaufmann earned recognition as the CCHA Goalie of the Week for the first time this season.
DelGrosso (3-15-18), who leads all CCHA in defenseman scoring, had a goal each night, including Saturday's game-winner, as the Mavericks posted a pair of victories over Lake Superior State University, 3-2 and 2-1.
Kaufmann took home goaltending honors on the strenght of his performance in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Lakers, stopping 47 shots, including 20 in the first period, en route to first-star honors and his seventh win of the season.
The 19th-ranked Mavericks will break for the holidays over the next two weeks, returning to action with a trip to the East Coast to face a pair of Ivy Leauge hockey powers in Yale and Princeton, Dec. 29-30.
