UNO Hockey To Host Military Appreciation Night
Dec 2, 2008 | General, Hockey
OMAHA, Neb. – The University of Nebraska at Omaha will honor all service men and women by holding Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, Dec. 6 when the hockey team hosts the University of Alaska-Fairbanks at Qwest Center Omaha. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Military personnel who show their military I.D. will receive one free upper bowl ticket to the game. They also may purchase tickets for all family members for a discounted rate of just $10.
The Mavericks will wear special military-themed jerseys on both Friday and Saturday nights. Those jerseys will be sold through a silent auction during Saturday's game. Winners will be announced following the conclusion of the game. All proceeds will benefit the Nebraska Troop Support and The Bryan McDonough Military Heroes Foundation.
The first Military Appreciation Night, which raised more than $11,500 last season, was the brainchild of UNO senior goaltender #Jerad Kaufmann#. Kaufmann is a friend of McDonough and his family and designed the Night as a tribute to his friend and all those who serve.
The Mavericks will play Alaska on both Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5 and 6 at 7:05 p.m. Tickets for both games are on sale at the Qwest Center Omaha box office and at the Sapp Fieldhouse box office. For more information, visit omavs.com.
