NET To Air Four Maverick Hockey Games

LINCOLN, Neb. – NET announced today that it would televise four UNO hockey games during the second semester. Its coverage begins on Friday, January 9 when the Mavericks host Northern Michigan University at Qwest Center Omaha. The game broadcast will begin on NET2 at 7 p.m. Central Time with the opening face-off scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
NET also will broadcast both Maverick hockey games against Miami University on Friday and Saturday, January 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. at Qwest Center. The final broadcast of the regular season will be on Friday, February 20 against Notre Dame at 7 p.m. at the Omaha Civic Auditorium. The game on January 23 will be shown on NET2 while the games on January 24 and February 20 will air on NET1.
Dave Ahlers will call the play-by-play with former UNO goaltender Kendall Sidoruk providing color commentary. Larry Punteney will report from ice level.
All four UNO hockey broadcasts also will be available on-line at NET's web site, netNebraska.org. Webcasting of the series is a free service of NET.

The Mavericks are off until Monday, December 29 when they visit Yale University at 6:00 p.m CT. The game can be heard live on 1290 KKAR beginning with the pre-game show at 5:40 p.m.
