OMAHA, Neb. – The UNO women's basketball team snapped a three-game losing skid with a 61-32 win over NAIA opponent York College on Tuesday night at Sapp Fieldhouse. #Amanda Brodsack had a career-high 20 points while Cayla Hargrove# chipped in 11.
OMAHA, Neb. – The UNO women's basketball team snapped a three-game losing skid with a 61-32 win over NAIA opponent York College on Tuesday night at Sapp Fieldhouse. #Amanda Brodsack had a career-high 20 points while Cayla Hargrove# chipped in 11.
The Mavericks raced out to a 9-0 lead, finished off by a three-pointer from #Autralius Sanders#. York put together a 12-4 run to whittle the deficit down to one. Kristin Wiedeman keyed the rally with 5 points. UNO closed with a 13-5 run of its own to lead 25-17 at halftime.
In the second half, Brodsack led the way, scoring 8 of the Mavs first 14 points to help them pull away. Brodsack would earn 18 points in stanza, exactly half of the Mavericks' output as they outscored the Panthers 36-15.
Brodsack and #Alyssa Green# each had 8 rebounds to pace the Mavericks.
The win boosts UNO's record to 2-4 on the year. The Mavs return to MIAA action on Saturday, Dec. 13 when they host Northwest Missouri State at Sapp Fieldhouse. Game time is 4 p.m.
