Mavs Face CCHA Foe Northern Michigan

The Mavericks travel to Marquette, Mich. to match up against Northern Michigan University in UNO's last regular season Central Collegiate Hockey Association two-game series before the play-offs. The puck drops at 6:35 p.m. CST both Friday and Saturday night at the Berry Events Center.

The games will be broadcast on KKAR, 1290 AM, with the pre-game show beginning 30 minutes before face-off. Greg Harrington will call the action, with Terry Leahy providing color commentary.

Nebraska-Omaha comes into the game at even .500 after a win and a loss last weekend at home against Bowling Green. The Mavericks are 14-14-4 overall and 11-11-4 in the CCHA. Northern Michigan is 13-16-3 overall and 10-12-2 in conference play.

The Mavericks split a weekend series with Bowling Green University. UNO fought past BGSU for a 5-3 victory on Friday night with goals from Joey Martin, JJ Koehler, Dan Charleston, Tomas Klempa and Brandon Scero. Scero assisted on three goals before netting the game winner. Saturday night Joey Martin was the only Mav to score in the 3-1 loss.
Coming up
UNO will play the second half of its home-and-home series with Minnesota State on Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Mankato. The Mavericks will face the US National Development team for the first time in exhibition play on Friday, Feb. 29 at 7:05 at the Qwest Center.
