Mavs Will Host Alaska in First Round of CCHA Playo

With the tie of Lake Superior State and Northern Michigan, Nebraska-Omaha will host Alaska in a best-of-three first-round Central Collegiate Hockey Association playoff series that begins Thursday night at Qwest Center Omaha. All games will face off at 7:05 p.m.
UNO has already played Alaska four times this season with a record of 3-0-1 in those meetings, including a sweep in Fairbanks. Overall, Alaska has the series advantage of 18-12-8 but in the last eight meetings the Mavs are 5-1-2.
Due to a scheduling conflict at the Qwest Center the Mavericks will play Thursday, Saturday and if needed Sunday.
The winner of this weekend's series will advance to the second round of the CCHA playoff series.
