Big Innings Lift Mules Past UNO, 12-6

WARRENSBURG, Mo.- Central Missouri used a pair of five-run innings and took advantage of eight Maverick errors to post a 12-6 non-conference win over the University of Nebraska at Omaha Sunday, despite another strong day at the plate for Chris Weimer, who collected three hits, including a homer and two RBIs
The Mavericks dropped to 1-4 after going winless this weekend, while the Mules improved to 9-4 on the season. UNO will play seven games this week starting Tuesday at Northwest Missouri State.
UNO led 4-2 in the fourth inning when Central Missouri broke the game open off UNO starter Dustin Koca (0-1), scoring five runs on a combination of timely hitting and Maverick errors to take a 7-4 lead.
UNO inched closer in the top of the fifth inning, scoring two runs after Weimer and Evan Porter started the inning with a single and a walk before later scoring to pull UNO within 7-6.
The Mules put the game away in the bottom of the seventh, putting up five runs.
