Mavs Prepare for Nanooks Once Again

The Mavericks host Alaska for the first time in the first round of the CCHA playoffs. The Nanooks have to travel to Omaha for the second time this season.

The game will be broadcast on KKAR, 1290 AM, with the pre-game show beginning 30 minutes before face-off. Greg Harrington will call the action, with Terry Leahy providing color commentary.
The Records
The Mavericks are 15-16-4 overall and 11-13-4 in the CCHA. Alaska finished the regular season 8-19-5 and 8-16-4 in the conference.
The Coach
UNO head coach Mike Kemp brings a 177-203-49 overall record into this weekend.
Kemp, UNO's only head coach in 11 seasons,is 102-113-37 in the CCHA.

The Mavericks trail UAF 12-18-8 but have gone 6-1-3 in the last ten meetings.

Tuesday night UNO completed the sweep of Minnesota State with a 4-2 victory in Mankato. The MSU Mavericks are currently ranked No. 9 in the USCHO.com/CSTV weekly poll. UNO brought home the Spirit of the Maverick trophy for the first time since the 2001-2002 season. Friday the Mavs knotted at 3 with the U-18 USNDP.
Playoff Tickets
Playoff tickets for Thursday and Saturday went on sale Monday at 10 a.m. The CCHA has set the prices for the tickets at $16 for adult lower bowl seats, $13 for upper bowl and $9 for ages 3 through college. UNO students can buy tickets for $3 with their student IDs. Group tickets went on sale at 1 p.m. Monday and cost $10 for 20 people or more.
Giving Back
Junior goalie Jerad Kaufmann's work to honor his fallen friend raised more than $11,400 for the Bryan McDonough
Military Heroes Foundation.

If UNO advances to the second round of the CCHA playoffs the Mavs will most likely travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan for a best-of-three series (March, 14-16) against Michigan but it will not be finalized until at least Saturday night.
