Mavs Earn No. 5 Seed at North Central Regional

Fresh off their North Central Conference Tournament championship, the University of Nebraska at Omaha men's basketball team learned their fate in the NCAA Tournament Sunday night, earning the NCAA II North Central Regional's No. 5 seed.
The Mavericks, at 24-6 earned an automatic berth in the Regional, which begins next Saturday in Winona, Minn.
UNO will battle Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champion, No. 4 seed Fort Lewis (24-5) in the tournament's first round at 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
The NCC Tournament title is the second for UNO, which also won in 2004.
The Mavericks will be making their 11th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and the first in the Derrin Hansen era and the first since the 2004-05 season.
Game times will be announced on Monday.
