Ichabods End Maverick Winning Streak at 18

TOPEKA, Kan.- The University of Nebraska at Omaha baseball team couldn't overcome four errors and 13 Washburn hits as the Ichabods ended UNO's 18-game winning streak with a 7-2 win Tuesday at Falley Field.
The Ichabods shut down the Maverick offense after allowing two first-inning runs.
Washburn (13-25), got a strong pitching performance from Jake Iverson, who held UNO (30-10) to just four hits after the first inning and struck out five Maverick batters.
Starter Ryan Hines (3-2), after a scoreless first inning, ran into second-inning troubles allowing four runs on four hits that gave the Ichabods all the offense they would need.
Dustin Koca and Brian Strawn both produced RBIs in the first inning for the Mavericks.
UNO will play a doubleheader at Fort Hays State at 3 p.m. tomorrow before heading to St. Cloud State this weekend.
