Mavs in Mankato for 5-Game Weekend

The University of Nebraska at Omaha softball team will face five North Central Region foes this weekend in Mankato, Minn., at the Minnesota State Tournament. The weekend will begin with a tripleheader Saturday, with games against Northwest Missouri State (No. 8 in region) at 9 a.m., Concordia-St. Paul at 11 a.m. and Central Missouri (No. 4 in region) at 5 p.m.
The Mavericks, (38-9, NCC 9-2), ranked No. 5 in the most recent National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll and No. 1 in the region, will continue tournament play with a doubleheader Sunday, when they will play Mary at 9 a.m. and Winona State (No. 7 in region) at 1 p.m.
Mavericks Earn No. 2 Seed in NCC Tournament
UNO has earned the No. 2 seed in the North Central Conference tournament May 2-3 in Duluth, Minn. The Mavericks will play No. 7 seed North Dakota at 10 a.m. May 2 in the first round.
