Mavericks Head to Emporia For Central Regional

The University of Nebraska at Omaha baseball team earned the No. 2 seed in the Central Region for the NCAA Division II Championship Tournament, beginning Thursday afternoon at Emporia State.
The Mavericks (42-11), who claimed the final North Central Conference championship on Sunday, will open the regional against the team they defeated in the conference finals, Minnesota State, Mankato, at 3:30 p.m. UNO won five of six meetings with MSU this year, taking three of four games in Mankato, then winning two more in the conference tournament, including a 17-0 drubbing in the final.
No. 3 seed Wayne State and No. 4 Central Missouri will open Thursday's action at noon. Top-seeded Emporia State will face No. 6 Concordia-St. Paul in the nightcap at 7 p.m.
Fans will be able to tune in to hear Dave Ahlers call all of UNO's games on either KOTK 1420-AM or KCRO 660-AM, depending on game times.
