Ommen, Mulligan Fire 77s to Lead Mavs

HOUSTON, Texas -- Erin Ommen and Lynn Mulligan shot five-over-par 77s Thursday to lead the University of Nebraska at Omaha in the third round of the NCAA Division II championship tournament at Memorial Park Golf Course.
The Mavericks remain in seventh place, 11 shots clear of Augustana, entering Friday's final round. Rollins, led by individual leader Joanna Coe's four-under 68, is tied with Nova Southeastern for the team-lead at 887.
Mulligan is tied for 23rd with a 231 total, 15-over par. Abbey Weddle, with a 78 Thursday, is at 237, tied for 31st; Lindsay Newton, after an 80, is 39th with a 243; Ommen is tied for 43rd with a 246 and Sara Wolfe is 46th after her 84 put her at 248.
Coe, at four-under 212, holds a six-shot lead over Florida Southern's Heather Burgner at 218. Rollins' Laura Fourdraine, tied for ninth at 227, shot a 76 Thursday that was aided by a hole-in-one on the seventh hole.
The final round of the 72-hole event on the par-72, 6,327-yard course, will begin Friday afternoon.
