UNO to Close Regular Season at Mankato

The Mavericks will close the regular season portion of the schedule with a weekend trip to Minnesota State. Games have been pushed to Saturday, May 3, 1 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m., May 4 UNO in Mankato. The schedule has been adjusted since rain is expected this weekend in Minnesota. The doubleheader with Winona State originally scheduled for Sunday has been cancelled.
Koca Earns NCC Player of the Week
Dustin Koca has been named co-North Central Conference Pitcher of the Week which is the seventh straight week a Maverick has been honored by the conference. Koca shares the honor with Sean Cooley of North Dakota.
Koca, a senior from Papillion, Neb., struck out 14 of the 24 batters he faced in a complete game, two-hit win over St. Cloud State. He walked only one batter. This is the second time Koca has earned NCC honors, also being named Player of the Week on March 25.

The Mavericks remained perfect in North Central Conference play sweeping St. Cloud State in games played at two sites. The series was delayed until Monday and Tuesday due to snow in the St. Cloud area so games were played in St. Cloud and Cold Spring, Minn.
Looking Down the Road
The University of Nebraska at Omaha will host the 2008 NCC baseball tournament May 8-10 in Omaha at two sites: the Ballpark at Boys Town and former home Seymour Smith Field.
