Mavs Head to Final NCC Tournament

The University of Nebraska at Omaha softball team, seeded No. 2, is scheduled to begin action in the final North Central Conference Tournament at 10 a.m. on Saturday against No. 7 seed North Dakota in Duluth, Minn. UNO has not won the NCC Tournament since 2005.
The Mavericks (38-11, NCC 9-2) swept North Dakota (19-32, NCC 2-10) earlier this year in a conference doubleheader at Claussen-Westgate Field. UNO leads North Dakota 39-1 in the all-time series.
If UNO wins the first game they will play again at 2:30 p.m. If they lose they will play at 12:30 p.m. This is a double elimination tournament.
Notes: Leslie Svoboda will take a twelve-game hitting streak and Brianna Cataudella a five-game streak into this weekend's play...Svoboda leads the team with a .444 batting average, which is second in the NCC, 61 RBIs, which leads the NCC, and 9 home runs...UNO is batting .324 as a team, which is also second in the NCC...Freshman pitcher Beth Haley has a 2.00 ERA, which is second in the NCC...Melissa Negrete's 2.28 ERA puts her fourth in the NCC...Allysa Fligg has only lost two games this season...Chanel Reaves leads the team and the NCC for stolen bases with 25 in 28 attempts...Haley and Negrete both make the NCC's top five for strikeouts.
