Mavs Sweep NCC Weekly Honors

The University of Nebraska at Omaha swept the final North Central Conference player and pitcher of the week honors after capturing the league's tournament title Sunday. Brianna Cataudella, who batted .400 for the meet, and Beth Haley, who won three games, earned this week's honors.
Cataudella, a senior catcher from Itasca, Ill., drove in three runs and banged out a double and a home run. Her homer in the semifinal game forced extra innings and the Mavs went on to defeat Minnesota Duluth, 5-2, in nine-innings.
Haley, a freshman from Highland, Ind., won the first three games and struck out 13 in 21.2 innings.
UNO will make its 19th straight trip to the NCAA Division II tournament this week, facing Minnesota State, Mankato in the first round of North Central Regional action Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Emporia, Kan.
