Rain Delays Start of Regional Until Thursday

EMPORIA, Kan. -- The NCAA has announced a change to the game schedule concerning the postponed NCAA Division II North Central Regional Softball Tournament. The University of Nebraska at Omaha will play its first-round game against Minnesota State, Mankato at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Trusler Sports Complex.
The first two days of the tournament will feature five games each with the first one set to begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday. Games will be played at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Saturday and Sunday's game times are yet to be determined.
Rains in the Emporia area had forced the delay to the start of the tourney. The grounds crew was able to remove the tarp on Turnbull Field and work the field during a break in the rain during the late morning, however continued light showers have made additional work on Wednesday impossible.
