Tooley Leaves UNO Volleyball Program

OMAHA, Neb. -- Reshirt sophomore setter Jamie Tooley (Columbus, Neb.) announced today she is leaving the Maverick volleyball program.
“I have decided to leave the UNO volleyball program for personal and academic reasons,” said Tooley. “I really need to focus on my academics right now. I am trying to get into pharmacy school and it is really important for me to devote more time toward that goal.”
“I really appreciated the opportunity to play volleyball at UNO and everything my teammates and the UNO coaches and staff have done for me,” added Tooley.
Tooley played in 14 matches this season, starting in eight. She averaged 6.20 assists and 2.29 digs per set while splitting setting time with freshman Emily Myers.
“I want to thank Jamie for all of the hard work she has put into this program,” said head volleyball coach Rose Shires. “She has made UNO volleyball better during her time with the program. We will miss her leadership, competitiveness, and friendship. We understand this is the best thing for Jamie and we wish her the best in all her future endeavors,” added Shires.
