UNO Heads to Texas for St. Edward's Classic

Weekly Notes
The University of Nebraska at Omaha Mavericks will hit the road for the first time this season when they head to Austin, Texas to participate in the St. Edward's Classic on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 5-6.
The Mavericks will take on the host school, St. Edward's at 12:15 p.m. on Friday before battling Texas A&M-Kingsville at 7 p.m. UNO will conclude the tournament with a 4:45 p.m. match on Saturday against East Central (Okla.)
The Record
The Mavericks are currently 2-2 on the season after winning two of four matches in the Comfort Inn & Suites/Firewater Grille Tournament last weekend in the Sapp Fieldhouse. UNO swept both Minnesota-Crookston and Mary in the tournament, while dropping a heartbreaker to Northern Michigan in five sets and concluding the tournament with a three-set loss to Rockhurst.
The Rankings
In the CBS College Sports Network/AVCA Division II Coaches Top 25 poll released on Sept. 1, five MIAA opponents were ranked in the top 20, including Washburn (No. 2), Truman State (No. 3), Pittsburg State (No. 12), Emporia State (No. 14), and Central Missouri (No. 20).
