Mavericks Drop Meet To D-I Kansas

LAWRENCE, Kan. - For the second time in as many meets,the UNO swimming and diving team squared off with a Division I foe, losing to Kansas 79-45 on Saturday afternoon at Robinson Natatorium.
#Amy Bechdolt# had a strong showing in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing fourth with a time of 2:10.80. Teammate #Cait Hopkins# was fifith with a time of 2:17.51.
Hopkins had a strong showing of her own in the 50-yard freestyle. She finished fifth in a time of 25.10. Fellow Mav #Alicia Goetz# was sixth at 25.61.
UNO took the top three scores in the 200-yard breaststroke led by #Chelsea Hartman# who posted a time of 2:35.93. #Lucy Zamecnik# was second 2:36.58 while #Katie Maier# was third at 2:36.83.
The Mavericks closed the meet with a win in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The team of Bechdolt, Zamecnik, #Laura Kemp# and Hopkins were clocked at 8:05.09.
UNO is back in the pool beginning Nov. 19 with the four-day Husker Invite hosted by Nebraska.
