VALLEY, Neb. – #Erin Ommen# tied for the best round of the day as the UNO golf team took the lead after round one of the UNO Fall Classic. The Mavericks, hosting their only tournament of the season, led the field by eight strokes after 18 holes at Pines Country Club.
Ommen shot 73 including 35 on the back side to tie with Laura Taylor from Upper Iowa for the overall lead. UNO's #Abbey Weddle and Dani Suponchick# shot 76 and were in a five-way tie for fifth place. #Rebecca Pollock# shot 79 to tie for 14th.
The Mavericks finished with a team score of 304, just in front of MIAA rival Truman State which finished at 312. Upper Iowa was in third of the 10-team tournament at 314.
The final round of the tournament and of the fall season for the Mavericks will be Monday at 9:30 a.m.
