DelGrosso Named CCHA Defenseman of Week

FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. - The Central Collegiate Hockey Association announced today that UNO defenseman #Eddie DelGrosso# has been named the league's Defenseman of the Week. It's his first selection this season and the sixth time he's earned the award in his career.
DelGrosso had a goal and two assists in last week's tie and win over Bowling Green at home. On Friday, he had an assist in UNO's 3-3 tie with the Falcons. He scored the game-winning goal and assisted on the first goal of the game in the Mavericks' 3-1 win. He also finished the weekend with a plus/minus rating of +3.
For the season, the native of LasVegas, Nev. has two goals and three assists for five points and is tied for fourth in team scoring. He is second on the team with a +6 rating. His overall totals put him in a tie for sixth in scoring among all CCHA defensemen.
Also this week, the Mavericks have risen to tenth in both the USCHO.com/CBS College Sports Poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey Poll. It is their highest ranking of the season. They also shot up four places to sixth in the weekly power rankings complied by InsideCollegeHockey.com.
The Mavericks are back in action on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 5 and 6 when they visit the Michigan State Spartans. Face off is 6:05 p.m. CT each night from Munn Ice Arena in East Lansing, Mich.
