Nelson Named MIAA Athlete Of The Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Senior forward Ashley Nelson was named the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association athlete of the week after her efforts last week.
Nelson averaged 21.0 points a game and shot 57 percent as UNO won both of its games in the Nebraska-Omaha Thanksgiving Classic.
She scored 15 points in 21 minutes against Oklahoma Panhandle State Friday and then in 36 minutes against Chadron State on Saturday she scored 27 points. She averaged 7.0 rebounds in both games and shot 77 percent from the free throw line.
This is the first honor this year for a UNO player.
