Americans, Blais 2-0 After Win Over Swiss

SASKATOON, Sask. - Team USA picked up its second win of the International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championships on Sunday, beating Switzerland 3-0. The Americans, led by UNO head coach #Dean Blais#, improved to 2-0-0 with two more games to play in the preliminary round of the tournament.
Goalie Jack Campbell made 22 saves to backstop the win.
"I thought we stuck to our game plan and eventually wore them down," Blais told the USA Hockey web site. "Both goaltenders played extremely well. I thought Jack really made some key saves in the first period to keep the game scoreless."
Following a scoreless first period, Chris Kreider of Boston College scored on a powerplay six minutes into the middle frame to give Team USA the lead.
Matt Donovan of the University of Denver scored his second goal of the tournament with 12:35 gone in the third, and Ryan Bourque added another goal four minutes later to complete the scoring.
For the second game in a row, the Americans had a healthy shot advantage, outshooting the Swiss 49-22.
Team USA has Monday off before returning to pool play on Tuesday when it faces Latvia at 3 p.m. CT.
