Minssen, Moore Lead Mavericks at Wildcat Open

Final Results
WAYNE, Neb. - Shot putter #Heather Minssen and multiple events specialist Shannon Moore# recorded their best marks of the season to lead the UNO indoor track team at the Wildcat Open hosted by Wayne State College.
Minssen threw a season-best 45 feet, 2 1/4 inches in the shot to finish in second place in the meet. That was an improvement over her previous season best and provisional qualifying mark in the event. Teammate #Lianne McNaughton# had a personal best 40 feet, 9 1/2 inches to finish fifth while #Madison Haugland# was eighth at 35 feet, 10 3/4 inches.
Haugland had a personal best in the weight throw with a toss of 43 feet, 3 3/4 inches.
Moore finished in first place in the high jump with a provisional qualifying leap of five feet, six inches. Teammate #Jenna Temme# was fourth at four feet, ten and one-quarter inches.
Moore also won the 55 meter hurdles in a time of 8.58 and took first in the long jump with a jump of 17 feet, 11 1/2 inches. UNO's #Ashley Yates# was third at 17 feet, 3 1/2 inches.
#Jolene Smith and Lisa Tesarek# went 1-2 in the 600 yard run. Smith finished in a meet record time of 1:38.37, just .63 seconds faster than Tesarek.
In the triple jump, #Rasheema Pitt# finished second with a leap of 36 feet, 11 1/2 inches.
The Mavericks competed with an abbreviated squad in the meet.
UNO returns to action on Friday, Feb. 20 when they take part in the Nebraska Tune-up hosted by Nebraska.
