Puc Earns Second MIAA Track Honor

OMAHA, Neb. – Sprinter #Anja Puc# of the UNO indoor track and field team was named track athlete of the week in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association today. It's the second time she has earned the honor this season.
Puc, a sophomore from Medvode, Slovenia, recorded the top time in NCAA Division II this season with her winning effort in the 800 meters at the University of Nebraska Tune-Up Meet on Friday, Feb. 20.
She registered a time of 2 minutes, 9.74 seconds, topping her own school-record of 2:11.57 set on Jan. 31.
Puc is a graduate of Gymnasium Ljubjana Siska.
The UNO track team returns to action at the MIAA indoor track and field championships hosted by the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Mo. on Feb. 27 – March 1.
