
Haley and Hinton Named to South Central Shootout A

South Central Shootout All-Tournament Team
DURANT, Okla. - Nebraska-Omaha pitcher Beth Haley and outfielder Katelyn Hinton were both named to the all-tournament team at the South Central Shootout, hosted by Southeastern Oklahoma State over the weekend. The Mavericks went 4-2 during the season-opening event.
Haley went 2-0 in two starts at the Shootout. She had a 0.98 ERA, allowing one earned run in 14 1/3 innings. Haley struck out 17 batters while walking just three. She pitched complete game wins against Southwestern Oklahoma State and St. Mary's and struck out eight and nine, respectively, allowing three hits each game.
Hinton batted .444 with six RBIs and a pair of home runs. Her batting average and RBI totals led the team, as did her eight total hits. Four of her hits were for extra bases, giving her a .944 slugging percentage.
The Mavericks will continue action at the Pittsburg State/Missouri Southern Crossover Invite, playing six games in Pittsburg, Kan.
