Mavericks Shut Down Doane for Season's Second Win

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Mavericks didn't lose a set as they swept all nine points at Doane Friday evening to improve to 2-2 in their inaugural season.
Nebraska-Omaha will return home next Friday to host Nebraska-Kearney at 3 p.m. at Hanscom Tennis Center.
Chase Petersen and Jon McQuistan won their second straight match at No. 1 doubles and improved to 2-1 at the spot this year with an 8-4 win. Matt Wisch and Matt Frost teamed up for an 8-1 win at No. 2 and Ivan Yakovlev and Ben Williams won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.
The singles matches all went UNO's way with Petersen and Frost getting wins at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively. The win was Petersen's first in his first match at the No. 1 spot. Tom Rickert played in his first collegiate singles match and earned the Mavs a point at No. 6.
