Mavericks To Host First-Round Playoff Series

OMAHA, Neb. - The University of Nebraska at Omaha hockey team will host a first-round Central Collegiate Hockey Association playoff series this weekend, Mar. 6-8, as the Ferris State University Bulldogs come to town for a best-of-three series at the Qwest Center Omaha.
As clustermates this season the Bulldogs and Mavericks have faced one another four times already. FSU holds a 1-2-1-0 against UNO this season, splitting a series in Omaha while winning one and tying another in Big Rapids, Mich.
The Mavericks are 8-13-7-3 in CCHA play this season, giving them a total of 26 conference points. UNO tied Western Michigan with 26 points in conference action, but finished eighth in the final CCHA standings because WMU owned the tiebreaker over the Mavs.
