Jenkins Named To Daktronics All-Region Team

STEPHENVILLE, Texas - UNO senior guard #Michael Jenkins# was named to the 2009 Daktronics All-South Central Region Second Team on Tuesday. It was his first such selection. Jenkins finished the season as the Mavericks leading scorer and the third highest scorer in school history.
Jenkins started in all 28 games for the Mavs and averaged 17 points. He finished third in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in points and led the league in free throw percentage (.826). He also set a new UNO record for free throws made in a season with 196.
The native of Bellevue, Neb. finished his career third all-time in scoring in school history with 1,556. He's also fifth in career three-pointers with 161.
Earlier this season, Jenkins was named to the All-MIAA First Team and was an MIAA Athlete of the Week in men's basketball.
