Mavs Look to Continue Streak with Six Games in Mis

OMAHA, Neb. - The University of Nebraska at Omaha baseball team will return to the road this weekend following their home opening sweep of Missouri Southern State University. On Wednesday, March 18, UNO will travel to St. Joseph, Mo. to take on Missouri Western in a double-header beginning at 4 p.m. The Mavs then travel to Bolivar, Mo. to face Southwest Baptist in a four game series that will take place on March 20 and 21. Friday's double-header begins at 1 p.m. while Saturday's twin bill has been moved up to 12 p.m. due to a threat of rain.
The Records
The Mavericks improved their record to 15-8 and 5-3 in the MIAA following a four-game sweep of Missouri Southern. Next on the schedule is Missouri Western who is currently 10-12 overall and 3-7 in the conference. Southwest Baptist, has a record of 7-10 on the year and 5-3 in conference play.
The Coaches
#Bob Herold# is in his tenth season as the UNO head coach. The 1972 graduate of UNO was a 1971 NAIA All-American for the Mavericks. He is 315-192-2 all-time as a college head coach. Herold is assisted by #Chris Gadsden# (10th Season) and Dan McGinn (9th Season). Missouri Western is coached by Charles Verduzco who is entering his tenth season as the head coach for the Griffons. He has a career record of 246-200 as a coach, all of them coming for Missouri Western. He is assisted by Brandon Freeborn (4th season). Sam Berg is enterting his 9th season as Southwest Baptistss head coach, and his 11th overall. He has a record of 139-299-1 at Southwest and 160-341-1 overall. He is assisted by Chris Martinez, Scott Jacobs, and Chris Martin.

UNO holds the advantage over its first opponent of the week, Missouri Western, leading the all-time series 21-10. This will be the first time that the Mavericks and the Bearcats of Southwest Baptist face each other in baseball.
