Rain Delays Start of MIAA Tournament

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - The Mavericks will have to wait one more day to play in their first MIAA postseason tournament as continued rain has delayed the start of the eight-team event from Thursday to Friday. Nebraska-Omaha, the No. 4 seed in the tournament, will now begin action Friday at 6 p.m. against No. 5 Pittsburg State.
All eight teams will begin Friday at 6 p.m. on four different fields at Blue Valley Recreation Complex and second round games and first round consolation games will take place at 8 p.m. Friday.
Four rounds of games will be played Saturday and then the tournament championship will be played Sunday.
UNO is 40-13 overall and fourth in the MIAA with a 14-6 record.
