Mavericks Play a Four-Game Weekend Series in Maryv

The 19th ranked University of Nebraska at Omaha baseball team will travel to Maryville, Mo., for a four-game series with MIAA foe Northwest Missouri State. The series is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 10 and Saturday, April 11. Both day's doubleheaders will begin at 1 p.m.
The Records
Last week, the Mavericks improved their record to 29-10 overall and 19-5 in the MIAA to stay in second place behind Emporia State. UNO swept a doubleheader at home with Missouri Western and then took three of four from Truman State on the road. Northwest Missouri State is currently 8th in the MIAA with a conference record of 7-13. The Bearcats are 15-19 overall on the season and 8-8 at home.
The Coaches
#Bob Herold# is in his tenth season as the UNO head coach. The 1972 graduate of UNO was a 1971 NAIA All-American for the Mavericks. He is 324-194-2 all-time as a college head coach. Herold is assisted by #Chris Gadsden# (10th Season) and Dan McGinn (9th Season). Darin Loe is the head coach of the Bearcats and is in his 10th season. He has career record of 277-241at Northwest and 433-375 overall. He is assisted by Matt Johnson (7th season), and Mike Creason (6th season).
The Series
UNO holds a slight advantage over Northwest Missouri State in the all-time series. The Mavs sit just two games ahead of the Bearcats with a record of 29-27 in the series.
Team Leaders
#Andrew Hansen# leads the team in batting average at .421, doubles (21), runs (43) and hit (61). Hansen is tied with #Drew Schwab# for the team lead in runs batted in with 31 a piece. Schwab is also the team leader in home-runs with six. #Ben Percival leads the team in wins with a record of 8-0 while Joe Holtmeyer# is the team leader in era at 1.77 and strike-outs with 60.

UNO will travel to Kansas City, Mo., to take on Rockhurst. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14. The Mavericks will return home for a three day, four-game weekend series against MIAA foe Fort Hays State. The first game of the series is set for 2 p.m. on Friday, April 17. On Saturday, April 18, the teams will play a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. The Mavs will wrap the series up with one more game on Sunday beginning at 12 p.m. All four home games can be viewed live by coming out to the Ballpark at Boys Town.
