Porter Earns Another Post-Season Award

OMAHA, Neb. - UNO senior shortstop #Evan Porter# was named to the National College Baseball Writers' Association Division II All-American third team yesterday. It's the third post-season honor for Porter who was named a first team All-Region and first team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Assocation last month.
Porter finished his stellar career at UNO by leading the Mavericks in hitting with a .424 average. He also led the team with 97 hits (a school record), 62 RBI and 10 home runs. The Omaha native was fourth in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in batting average and hits. He is UNO's all-time leader in games played (239), at bats (869), hits (323), doubles (75), home runs (43), runs batted in (249) and total bases (527). He finished his UNO career with a .372 batting average.
