Meet The Mavericks - Kiley Herold

OMAHA, Neb. - Throughout the summer, Omavs.com will feature profiles of incoming UNO women's basketball players. This week's feature is Kiley Herold, an Omaha native and a graduate of Millard North High School.
The interview has been conducted by Karen Thies who played three seasons for the Mavericks and scored more than 1,200 points. She will be an assistant coach with the women's team this season.
Meet Kiley Herold
Kiley Herold graduated from Millard North this spring and has since been working diligently to prepare herself for the beginning of her Maverick career with the women's basketball team. We asked Herold some questions so we could get to know a little more about her.
Q: What is the main reason you chose to become a UNO Maverick?
A: Because I get to play with some of my friends and I really like the coaching staff.
Q: What are you most excited about for the upcoming season?
A: Getting close with the team and playing good competition.
Q: What is the most recent book you have read? Was it for pleasure or school?
A: I read the Twilight series; I had plenty of free time when I had mono.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant/favorite type of food?
A: Salads and smoothies
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: My dad (UNO baseball coach Bob Herold) coached Michael Jordan, and I got to meet him and hang out with him!
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time/what are your hobbies?
A: Hanging out with friends, laying out and boating.
Q: What is your favorite sport (other than basketball of course!)
A: Baseball or soccer
Q: Where in the world would you most like to travel if you could go anywhere?
A: Cancun
Herold will be playing with three other incoming Mavericks in the Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star Game on Monday, July 27 at Lincoln North Star High School.
