Meet The Mavericks - Sara Reeves

OMAHA, Neb. - She wakes at 7:30a.m. to do chores. They are not the typical chores, but rather the chores of someone who has grown up on a farm her entire life. They consist of feeding and watering cows, horses and pigs, taking the cows for a walk, bailing hay and chopping wood-just to name a few.
These are all typical of the morning routine for incoming Maverick Sara Reeves. Reeves graduated from Wahoo Bishop Neumann High School this spring and is excited to leave these chores behind for a while to move to Omaha to join the UNO women's basketball team. We asked Reeves some questions to get a better idea of her personality and interests whether on the court or on the farm.
Q: What is the main reason you chose to become a UNO Maverick?
A: I had Maverick Mojo and just couldn't fight it! I also really like the campus.
Q: What are you most excited about for the upcoming season?
A: To be a part of this team; I think we have the potential to have a great season.
Q: What is the most recent book you have read? Was it for pleasure or school?
A: Crime and Punishment-for school
Q: What is your favorite restaurant/favorite type of food?
A: Everything, I love food!
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I live on a farm and I am a big farm girl.
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time/what are your hobbies?
A: Hang out with friends and eat.
Q: What is your favorite sport (other than basketball, of course!)
A: Dodgeball or volleyball
Q: Where in the world would you most like to travel if you could go anywhere?
A: Jamaica or the Bahamas
Sara Reeves and fellow incoming freshmen Paige Frauendorfer, Kiley Herold and Jessica Zaruba will paly in the Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star Game on Monday, July 27 at 6 p.m. at Lincoln North Star High School.
