Scarpello Promotes Petermann to Full-time Assistan

OMAHA, Neb. - Cory Petermann, the Mavericks' pitching coach for nine years, has been promoted to full-time assistant coach, head coach Jeanne Scarpello announced Thursday.
Petermann was an assistant at UNO from 1996-2001 and then he returned in 2007 and has been with the staff since then. He has spent all nine years as the pitching coach and he has been a part of five conference championships at UNO (1996, 1997, 2000, 2001, 2008) and a national championship in 2001.
He coached under Mary Yori from 1996-1999 and then under Scarpello since 2000. In his nine years with the Mavericks, he has helped guide them to a 407-127 (.762) record.
Petermann is a graduate of Omaha Northwest High School. He currently is one of Omaha's premier pitchers in the Omaha Softball Association's men's fastpitch league. Petermann has pitched in seven national championship tournaments in his 12 years of experience.
He replaced Michala Cimino, who left her post after 12 years to become the head coach at Bellevue University.
