Mavericks Adjust Start Times For Hockey

OMAHA, Neb. – The University of Nebraska at Omaha has changed the start times for all Friday home hockey games at Qwest Center Omaha. All Friday games now will begin at 7:35 p.m., one-half hour later than originally scheduled.
“We have made this move in an effort to be more fan friendly,” said #Mike Kemp#, associate athletic director. “Because of the increased commuting time in Omaha during work days, this change will allow our fans more time to get home, gather their families and arrive at the arena in time for the opening faceoff.”
The new start times also will affect the Mutual of Omaha Icebreaker. The first game of the tournament on Friday, Oct. 9 between the University of Massachusetts Lowell and St. Lawrence will begin at 4:35 p.m. followed by the Mavericks' game against Army at 7:35 p.m.
The Mavericks' season-opening exhibition game against the University of Lethbridge on Monday, Oct. 5 also will start one-half hour later at 7:35 p.m.
Season tickets for UNO hockey are on sale now through the UNO athletic ticket office. For more information or to order, call (402) 554-MAVS.
