Meet The Mavericks-Jamie Nash
Sep 1, 2009 | Women's Basketball
One of five incoming freshmen for UNO this season, Jamie Nash is the only one who doesn't come to UNO from Nebraska. But the native of Missouri has made a smart choice in deciding to move her life to this great state and become a part of the Maverick women's basketball team.
We asked Nash some questions so we could get to know a little more about her.
Q: What is the main reason you chose to become a UNO Maverick?
A: I was impressed with the high standards set by UNO for academics as well as athletics.
Q: What are you most excited about for the upcoming season?
A: Winning the MIAA title (for starters). ;)
Q: What is the most recent book you have read? Was it for pleasure or school?
A: The “Twilight” series, I had to find out what all the “hooplah” was about.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant/favorite type of food?
A: I'm really a home cooked girl, roast beef and potatoes.
Q: Tell us something interesting about yourself.
A: I will be a dual athlete for UNO playing softball as well as basketball.
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time/what are your hobbies?
A: Sleep, hang out with friends, and play ball.
Q: What is your favorite sport (other than basketball of course!)
A: Softball.
Q: Where in the world would you most like to travel if you could go anywhere?
A: Spain would be an awesome adventure.
This concludes the five-part series on the University of Nebraska Omaha women's basketball freshmen. "Meet The Mavs" was written by Mavericks' assistant coach Karen Thies, herself a former UNO player.
