Puc Leads Mavericks On Day One at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – Junior #Anja Puc# took first place in the 1,000 meter run, posting UNO's best finish in the first day of action at the Holiday Inn Invitational hosted by Nebraska. The second day of action begins Saturday morning.
Puc ran a time of 2:54.57 to earn the win, nearly five seconds faster than the runner up, Brooke Dinsdale of Nebraska. It was Puc's only event of the day.
In the 5,000 meter run, freshman #Brittany Phillips# took tenth place with a time of 19:22.47.
In the preliminaries of the 60 meter hurdles, UNO's #Shannon Moore# earned a third seed for the finals with a run of 9.01. Teammate #Kayla Murphy# is the eighth seed after a prelim time of 9.40.
In the field events, Moore earned a seventh-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 17-07 ½. #Nicole Kubert# finished fifth in the high jump with a mark of 5-00 ¼.
