UNO Hosts Dig Pink Night

OMAHA, Neb. – The UNO volleyball team's 7 p.m. match on Friday, Oct. 15 against No. 7 Central Missouri marks a special promotional event – Dig Pink Night. In honor of October being National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Mavericks join hundreds of teams around the nation and the Side-Out Foundation in raising breast cancer awareness.
Dig Pink events across the country are supported college, high school and middle school coaches and teams, and proceeds help with awards grants to medical research organizations and support for breast cancer patients and their families.
For its part, the UNO volleyball program will sell pink t-shirts and pink volleyballs for fans in attendance at the match against the nationally-ranked Jennies. A silent auction is also on tap for the special pink jerseys that UNO student-athletes will wear during the match.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink to show their support of the cause.
