Mavericks Move Up In Polls

OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO hockey team took another step up in the weekly college hockey polls. Following a road split with third-ranked Michigan, the Mavericks are now ranked ninth in both the USCHO.com poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey poll, up one spot from the previous week.
This is the second week for the Mavericks in the top 10. Prior to last week, UNO hadn't been ranked that high since February of 2006 when they were seventh following a win and tie over the Wolverines.
The Mavericks also moved up two spaces in the latest power rankings released by the web site, InsideCollegeHockey.com. UNO is now ranked 14th.
The Mavs will have this week off to prepare for their first ever WCHA home series on Nov. 5 and 6 when they host Minnesota State at Qwest Center Omaha.
