UNO Closes Regular Season at No. 8 Central Missour

UNO Weekly Volleyball Release -- Nov. 11
The UNO volleyball team (17-14, 7-12 MIAA) returns to action on Friday, Nov. 12, traveling to No. 8 Central Missouri. The contest is set for 7 p.m. at UCM Multipurpose Building in Warrensburg, Mo. The Mavericks look to close the regular season with a three-game win streak, as they earned a sweep of Missouri Western and a 3-2 upset of No. 16 Truman last weekend.
The Jennies hold a 28-11 advantage all-time against UNO, most recently sweeping the Mavs on Oct. 15 in Omaha.

Uhing is Double Trouble
Senior outside hitter Kayla Uhing tallied her team-leading 15th double-double of the season in an upset of No. 16 Truman on Nov. 6, recording 15 kills, a career-best 23 digs and four blocks. Uhing had a dominant three-game performance last week, setting or tying career highs in every major category. She opened with one of the finest matches of her career against Northwest Missouri State, totaling a career-high-tying 18 kills, a then-career high of 20 digs and career marks of five blocks and three service aces.
Over three matches, Uhing averaged 3.77 kills, 4.38 digs and 0.875 blocks per set. She ranks among the top hitters in the MIAA with 3.22 kills per game, good for fifth in the league.
Wisehart Commands Offense in UNO Debut
Freshman setter Miranda Wisehart made her UNO debut at Missouri Southern on Oct. 19, stepping in for junior setter Emily Myers. Wisehart has taken command of the Maverick offense for the last two weeks, helping the squad to a 5-4 record, including four home wins.
The newcomer has averaged 9.61 assists per set, most recently putting up 43 set assists in a 3-2 upset of No. 16 Truman. Wisehart's first week was highlighted by a 53-assist performance against Pittsburg State on Oct. 22, a total which was the highest of any Maverick this season and was the best showing since Myers' 60 assists at Missouri Western on Nov. 6, 2009.

•Sophomore Natalie Ebke has been one of Miranda Wisehart's main attacking targets in the last three weeks, as Ebke is averaging 3.00 kills per set. She has five straight matches with double-figure kills, including a career high of 19 against Pittsburg State.
•Freshman Abby Sorensen leads both the team and the MIAA with 0.46 service aces per set. It marks the second straight year that a Maverick newcomer has led the league, as now-sophomore Natalie Ebke also finished atop the conference ace standings in 2009.

•Freshman middle blocker Megan Hutson starred at the net against No. 16 Truman last weekend, recording an astounding 11 blocks. The mar was the highest of any UNO blocker this season and the most since former Maverick Ellen Thommes' 14 against Nebraska-Kearney on Sept. 9, 2009.
